Paris Accommodation

Many of the emails received by us request further information on cheap hotels and lodging in Paris. In common with other large cities, prices tend to be far more expensive than the Provinces. If you are travelling by car then you can stay in the suburbs for substantially less than the centre of Paris.
Bear in mind as well that Mid Range and Luxury Hotels can be tremendous value especially at Weekends
Budget Hotel Chains
There are very few budget hotel chains within the Peripherique. The hotels on my website are best suited to persons travelling by car. A number of budget hotel groups have Internet sites where you can look up hotels, order a brochure and even book a room online. You can look up their sites to see what is available around Paris. Many hotels are close to Metro / RER Stations, but fares can get costly if you stay along way outside Paris. We once stayed at Cergy Pontoise and travelled into Paris by RER but found the fare quite expensive. It would not have cost a lot more to buy a RATP/ RER Pass. network. This would have allowed us unlimited travel all over Paris network and to the Suburbs including Fontainebleau and Versailles. Here are a few example budget hotels around Paris:-
Formule 1
There are numerous Formule 1 Hotels in and around Paris, about 56 in all. Here is one example:-

Nearest Metro Porte de St Ouen 200m from hotel (Line 13)
Formule 1 Hotels away from the Metro drop in price - ideal for travellers with their own car.

B&B Hotels
B& B Hotels have 11 hotels around Paris but tend to be on the outskirts. Rooms will accommodate up to 4 persons.
Balladins
Balladins do have 3 hotels within the Peripherique. These hotels are in my opinion between 1 and 2 star.

Mid Range Hotels
Offering a lot more comfort these hotels are often work out as economical as the budget chains when travelling with a family. They will offer child beds and weekend prices (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are often half the Weekday rates.

Parisian Breaks can be quite reasonable with prices for a 3 night stay starting at £50 per person including ferry and hotel.
