Mercure are another ACCOR mid to luxury hotel chain. There are over 750 hotels under Mercure management. Mercure Hotels all have an individual ambience, the decor and food lend them a regional feel. The hotels themselves quite often have a unique history. An example being the Grand Hotel at Cabourg. This is the hotel where Marcel Proust wrote part of "A la recherche du temps perdu". There are two levels of comfort in the Mercure Hotel group:

Rooms are furnished in keeping with the hotel so expect classic furniture in old established hotels. Rooms all have TV with choice of satellite TV, desks, chairs and writing paper etc. Bathrooms are well equipped with toiletries supplied.
Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant. It comprises an an unlimited choice of cereals, fruit, fruit juices, bacon, eggs, cold meats, yoghurts, fruit salad as well as coffee, tea or chocolate.
Hotels have Restaurants where regional specialities are served. In addition hotels have a bar where you can meet up with friends for drink.
