Maeva Self Catering Apartment Chain
Maeva is a French apartment chain owned by Pierre et Vacances. Locations are usually by the seaside or in the French Alps. There are also a number of residences inland such as in the Dordogne, Ardeche and Provence.
My family stayed in the new Maeva Apartments at Port Guillaume during Easter 2000. I had booked using Degriftour (now part of LastMinute.com) and hired an apartment sleeping six, for 200 Euros for 1 week. The normal rate was 300 Euros.
Finding our apartment was not too difficult, as it was well signposted. The Maeva website also has a clear location map. A number of the Receptionists had a good command of English, but we always try to use our little French as a matter of courtesy.
Our room comprised a large living area with a sofa bed, dining table, chairs and a cupboard. Patio doors led to a balcony overlooking the outside swimming pool.
Inside a small kitchen and breakfast bar was equipped with fridge, cooker, small grill and dishwasher. There was also a downstairs toilet. A TV was not provided but could have been hired if required.

Although there outdoor swimming pool was closed at Easter the indoor heated pool was open and well liked by our 2 sons.

The site is available in French and English. It gives an overview of the Maeva Chain and then helps you find an apartment. This can be done by clicking on location maps or by using a 'Magician'. Just fill in the details in the requesters and you will be given suitable locations. Resort details are clear comprehensive. Booking is straightforward.
