| France France is a country bounded on three sides by the Channel, Atlantic Ocean and the Mediteranean. It has numerous regions all with an individual character. The landscape varies from rich agricultral plains to extinct volcanoes, deep limestone gorges through to the Alps. Mont Blanc the highest mountain in Europe is in the French Alps. Culture varies considerably from Breton to Basque. The architecture is varied from little Breton fishing cottages to vast Royal Chateaux such as Versailles or Fontainbleau. The food is varied and of good quality and French wines are world class. Beer is also a speciality in Flanders and the Alsace. |
