Low cost airline to Australia?
Jetstar the low cost airline owned by the Australian flag carrier Qantas has recently announced that it will fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The 787 is capable of flying long distances burning a lot less fuel than the current generation of airliners, it also flies faster than aircraft the same size.
The intention is for Jetstar to enter the International market by 2007. Jetstar is looking to operating flights to Asia and Europe. We may yet get a budget airline offering flights to Australia. I can't see them selling tickets for a £1 though.
