Birmingham Airport Strike negotiations break down

The dispute which came about following the sacking of two members of staff was to have started a series of 12 hour strikes, starting on 28 November 2005. That day of action was called off as unions went in to negotiations. Now with talks failing to resolve the dispute a new series of 12 hour walkouts by union members will shut down the airport on:
The airport hopes to have contingency plans in place if the strikes are staged. Options include,
airlines relocating to airports Coventry, Nottingham East Midlands and Manchester Airports. Coaches would be laid on to transfer affected passengers. Passengers with a flight booked for any of the strike days should keep in contact with their travel provider for the latest news.
