| This is the results of an
online survey carried out on 24/25 May 2004. The search was for the
cheapest cross ferry tickets for a car and family of four for two weeks
at the end of August 2004 (Peak Season). The desired departure time
from the UK was 08:00 hours on Saturday 14 August and the return time
from France was 17:00 hours on Sunday 29 August. The new operator
SpeedFerries came out a clear winner at the time of the survey but
ticket prices will rise closer to the time of travel in a similar
manner to the no frills airlines. If the price does rise than
Ferrysavers are consolidators with a wide range of operators and routes
at very good prices. |

Comments:
Ferry.co.uk had their site working when this survey was conducted. For
some reason they are now more expensive than their parent company
P&O. Strange really as they are the bucket shop arm of the
company. Norfolk Line has a very competitive offer on their Dover
Dunkirk route but if you buy from FerrySavers you get a free bottle of
wine as well.
Watch out for SpeedFerries though. A search for 2 week stays in October
this year, brought up return fares of £50.
