Parc Asterix is located just off the A1 Autoroute. Leave at the Parc Asterix Exit, this is not numbered and is found between Junction (Sortie)7 and 8. As you drive in tune in to Menhir FM the Park Radio Station it will get you into the mood for the day.
Parc AsterixThe park usually opens around 10h00 and closes around 18h00 but these times are extended in the Summer and at Weekends, check beforehand.
On entering Parc Asterix you travel down Via Antiqua. You will notice plenty of shops selling Asterix and Obelix merchandise you can call back before you leave for souvenirs.
As with most theme parks Parc Asterix is split into themed zones. These are actually different countries in Roman times. You can tell by the big Colosseum that you are in Rome, and remember "All roads lead to Rome".
There is also a Greek Zone. This has the mighty Tonnerre de Zeus, a wooden speed charged rollercoaster that makes it onto most lists of the best theme park rides in the world. Other Greek attractions include the Théâtre du Poséïdon where you can relax while watching the dolphin show.

Between the Greek and Parisian Zone is the Goudurix with its numerous loops.

The centre of the park contains Asterix's Gaul village. The village has the cartoon characters homes and also is the venue of a comical show by Cacofonix the Musician. There is a boat tour around the village which has lots of visual jokes.
The water rides all start in this region of the park. The most famous being the Menhir Express, (the wettest), Grand Splatch and the Oxygenarium a Victorian marvel.

Park Shows
There are a number of live shows put on throughout the day. The Dolphin show has already been mentioned, in addition to this there are performances in the colosseum, in old Paris as well as the large movie set stunt display. Try not to miss the shows if you can help it.
