Formule 1 hotels are basic but functional, above all they are cheap! Prices start at 26 Euros (09/10) for a room. Our family comprised two adults and two teenage sons, we would book two rooms. We always found the hotels to be clean and the management friendly.

Locations
Locations are usually on the outskirts of cities and
towns and are quite often in industrial estates. You cannot
therefore
expect a view. The advantage of these locations, is that trips
through
city and town centres are usually not required when traveling to
your
hotel. In fact a few hotels are close to Autoroute exits. All
hotels
have car parking facilities some of them with secured parking.
Your
room entry code will open the gates after hours.
Access / Payment
Rooms are only accessible via reception which is open
from 06:30 to 10:00 (07:30 to 10:30 Sundays and Bank Holidays)
and from
17:00 to 22:00. Outside these hours you can telephone a
reservation
6:30 to 22:00 (7:00 to 22:00 Sundays). Alternatively you can pay
for
your room with an automatic booking machine outside the
reception using
a credit card (Eurocard, Mastercard, CB, Visa, American
Express). Entry
to your room is by electronic lock using the code number
supplied. The
same code also opens the main door to Reception.
Rooms
Rooms are small, but come furnished with a double bed
and overhead bunk bed. They have a washbasin, small writing
shelf and
chair
as well as a remote control colour TV. In France most of the
chain has
had a makeover to hotelF1, with new furnishings, LCD TV's, WiFi
(by
payment of a
subscription)
and new logos. The newer hotelF1 hotels also have twin rooms
equipped
with two single beds. Toilets and showers are located at the end
of
each
corridor.
Breakfast
Breakfast is available in the Reception area or outside
if the weather is nice. It comprises an "eat as much as you
like"
continental breakfast of bread, jams, coffee etc.. Breakfast
costs 3.70
euros per person (unless you are a student and qualify for the 1
euro
deal!).
Pets
One pet is allowed in their owner's room, but not in the
breakfast
area. A charge of 3 euros per night, is levied for a pet.
Internet:
Formule 1 hotelsThe Formule 1 website includes lots of information on
the hotels as well as the virtual room tour mentioned earlier.
Location
maps for each hotel are provided as well as GPS Co-ordinates and
obviously telephone numbers and
addresses. Searching for a hotel is possible using maps or by
keying in
a location. The Formule 1 Website is well worth a visit. It has
everything you could possibly want to know about a Formule 1
Hotel.
Brochures
Formule 1 does not have a brochure request on its site but you can pick up a brochure at a hotel. The complete brochure is available on-line as a "virtual brochure", which is a more environmentally friendly option, than mailing out booklets.Look up: http://www.hotelf1.com
